We already know about a lot of Spring 2010 makeup collections. This time I found some details about Nars Spring 2010 makeup collection. This collection was created by Francois Nars and the spokeswoman is Amber Valletta.

I really like a lot of products from this collection and what do you think?

NARS Spring 2010: Kuala Lumpur Eyeshadow Duo

NARS Kuala Lumpur Eyeshadow Duo ($32.00) is a newly-released eyeshadow duo from NARS Spring 2010 Collection.

On one side, it’s a melon-y peach kind of shade with a shimmery, slightly frosted finish–it would appear that this is just one of those shades for the spring season (like Benefit Nice Melons, MAC Flip, Urban Decay Muchness; or even MAC Melon Pigment). The other side is a reddened burgundy with a softer frost finish and sheen.

I don’t love this eyeshadow duo, and I really thought I’d be all over it, given the way it looks. However, this is an eyeshadow duo one really needs to use wet, because the color pay off is not up to my expectations for a brand like NARS when they’re used dry. When used dry, particularly on the lid, they tend to look incredibly sheer and have a good deal of fall out (primarily of the shimmer). I didn’t expect to have any fall out troubles with this, considering they’re pressed powder shadows with shimmer, rather than glittery bits!

The texture of Kuala Lumpur is very soft–the shadows are smooth and soft to the touch but powdery, and when swatched, they look nicer than it was when I attempted to use the colors dry in a look. In order to make the look come together better, I ended up using the colors wet, which definitely helped quite a bit. I didn’t love it even wet, though, because once it dries, it does fade back a bit. It’s like, when you use the eyeshadow wet, it doesn’t remain looking like it does when wet, but it doesn’t completely become how it looks when dry. Instead, it settles somewhere in between. (You can see me wearing this duo in this look.) I also found that when used dry, it just didn’t seem to apply evenly and I really had to pack on the color to get an even (though sheer) application.

For $32, I want an eyeshadow I can truly use wet or dry, not just wet. I also don’t want to have to work too hard to make it work for me, either. I can get down with having to experiment a bit for just the right application method when we’re talking about a $2 eyeshadow, but if you’re going to buy high-end, it should work right outta the compact, you know?

The good news, for those concerned with the $32 price tag, is you get plenty for your money. The math works out to NARS eyeshadow duos being cheaper by the ounce than both MAC and Make Up For Ever. But maybe you’re better off picking up a different duo…

Oh, p.s. if you dig these colors, you may find that layering them over a more metallic base will help enhance their colors. Like say MAC Rubenesque Paint Pot. I always find poor performing shadows seem to work better when layered over colored and shimmery/metallic bases.

Nataly, je l'ai essayé au dos de ma main chez Sephora...Je voyais même pas de différence...Ça doit être hyper, hyper subtil!!!

J'ai reproduit ce look ce matin avec Silk Teddy (Too faced), pigment MAC Melon et MAC cranberry

Vernis Tokaido Express

C'est un prune presque noir avec des nacres très fines. Je trouve le vernis un peu trop liquide, j'espère qu'avec le temps il épaissira un peu. La texture n'est pas géniale, quand je repasse le pinceau au même endroit pour la première couche le vernis s'enlève. En plus le capuchon est trop gros, difficile à manipuler. En tout cas, je n'avais pas encore de couleur comme ça, mais à ce prix-là je m'attendais à mieux! J'ai hâte de voir pour la tenue.

Fond de teint Sheer Matte de Nars

Ma première impression: Ça pu!! On dirait que ça sent les olives?! Il ne matifie pas assez même avec mon primer Photofinish Light de Smashbox. Le fini est naturel, mais la couvrance est trop légère. Je n'ai pas vraiment aimé!

Le maquillage est beau, mais je trouve qu'elle parait beaucoup plus vieille sur ces photos.

NARS Summer 2010: Enchanted Cream Blush
NARS Enchanted Cream Blush ($26.00) is a new shade of cream blush launched with NARS’ Summer Collection. NARS describes it as a “soft peach,” and I’d completely agree with that assessment.

Enchanted is a sheer, soft peach with soft golden shimmer and a slight sheen. I’d like to put an emphasis on sheer, though, because I could not get it to show up on my cheeks, being around medium in skin tone (I’d say I’m on the lighter side of medium, but I’m certainly not fair). I did try to build up the color on my cheeks, but it just wasn’t working for me. On my skin tone, it ended up being more like a barely-there highlighter, unfortunately!

I can see this being really lovely and soft on fairer skin tones, and I think it would work well on both cool and warm skin tones. Cool skin tones will find this works as a soft peach that doesn’t turn orange, while warmer skin tones are easily complemented by peachy colors.

The formula itself is soft, creamy enough to melt into skin but not so creamy that it slips around. It dries down quickly and blends easily onto skin. I find that NARS Cream Blushes last me three to four hours before fading a bit. I like using them as bases and using a setting powder or powder blush on top to set and prolong wear to about six to eight hours.

I know that a lot of people were disappointed with NARS summer 2010 makeup collection Belle de Jour but maybe you will be happy to find out that NARS has 3 new products. All of them are available at Sephora. But Sephora has only 4 Lip Treatments out of 6 (Nordstorm has all 6).

Speaking of NARS, today I got a Mounia blush at a blog sale, I also wanted to get 2 double shadows but someone bought them just before me ( as well as YSL palette that I wanted) and I am still upset because I am big fan of NARS shadows. This is the first time that I got something in a blog sale by the way. And do you take part in blog sales?

I also made photos of several NARS items that I have and I will try to write reviews soon. But back to the new products.

Je vous met ici un review (pris sur makeupwithdrawal.blogspot.com) du blush Douceur qui sort avec la collection d'automne. Avis aux peaux pales!

Let me explain: I've been searching for a nice nude blush for a while now. I've come close to finding "The One" but all of them fell short- too pink, too peach, too brown, too orange.
But Douceur is love- a soft pink-brown that's almost sheer because it's so light. I'll go ahead and warn you, I don't think it'll show up on tanner and darker skin tones. But if you're a pale beauty looking for a slight, impossible to mess up natural flush Douceur is for you.

Again I repeat, if you're looking for a bright, pigmented pop of color, stay away. Don't even look at this blush's direction. For the first time ever, the NARS logo is etched into the blush pan, in delicate double lines that disappear the first time you use the blush.
Now he's the funny part, the blush is almost matte. True, if you squint at it closely, you do see a faint shimmer, but it's not discernible once on my skin. However, I have seen swatches of this blush online that look quite shimmer, I don't know why there's swatching discrepancy. The Douceur I tried in store wasn't shimmery either, beats me.
